Materials Sciences

A Rich Source for Future Functional Materials

The investigation of functional materials and their development into innovative devices has always been a central aspect of research at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. The Molecule Archive’s compound library together with its network of providing chemists provide a promising starting point for the search of substances with useful physicochemical properties and application potential.

Among others, the research interests of our collaborators in materials sciences lie e.g. in the field of organic photovoltaics and the development of OLEDs (organic light emitting diodes), liquid crystals or highly porous materials.
